Weighted Blankets: A Newfangled Invention?

Now, I might be a bit behind the times on these new-fangled contraptions, but a “weighted blanket” is a new one on me. It sounds like something you’d use to hold down a tent in a gale, not something to snuggle under.

From what I can gather, it’s a blanket with extra weight sewn in, like it’s been filled with sandbags instead of feathers or wool. Now, why anyone would want that beats me. Sounds like it would make a fella feel trapped, like being pinned under a fallen horse.

But some folks claim these weighted blankets are good for what ails ya. They say the pressure can soothe a restless soul, make it easier to drift off to sleep. Might be something to it, I reckon. After all, I’ve known a few calves to calm down when they’re all penned up together.

Still, I’ll stick to my trusty wool blanket, thank you very much. It’s warm, it’s breathable, and it doesn’t try to crush me in my sleep. But if you’re the curious type, and these weighted blankets tickle your fancy, give one a try. Just be careful you don’t get stuck under there!
